After ten years, Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer has returned to visit South Africa. Watching him at today’s presentation, I can understand how the Microsoft culture is perpetuated to all employees. These guys are excited about their products. Sometimes maybe a bit too much  Ballmer presented Vista (with its new user interface and search capability) and Office 12 (with a nifty menu/button bar) in an hour-long sales pitch. Atlas, the backend processor for newfangled IE7 functionality was also briefly mentioned. Let’s see how long it takes for Open Office to catch up…
