Opera Mini version 3 available

Opera Mini For any browsing requirement on my JAMin, I rely on the Opera Mini browser. The latest version available provides a number of new features, including RSS feeds and photo sharing. No new software release of any kind would be complete without the promise of increased speed, and for a browser, additional security and safety features.

Opera Mini is a remarkable browser that I’ve enjoyed using on a number of different devices. It’s generally fast and formats web pages quite nicely to fit in the available display area. Most certainly better than PIE…

Is that Opera Mini (java applet?) as opposed to Opera 8.60 for PPC? I’ve been using the latter but it’s quite expensive to purchase and my trial period is coming to an end. If the former works well, I’ll just make the switch.

Yep, the Java applet. The PPC Opera client is really great, but I don’t feel the cost justifies its purchase. The Java applet is speedy and formats screens quite nicely. As I don’t browse the web per se, this is a good solution. You can get the Java version at no cost and try it out – depending on your browsing requirements, you may well consider it worthwhile. Minimo is still nowhere near usable…
