Amazon purchases audio books – en masse

audible.comAudible has been acquired by Amazon for the tidy sum of USD 300 million. The business deal is expected to be finalized in April of this year and will see DRM content under scrutiny. The online music purchases Amazon offers to customers in the US are not protected by DRM. I hope the same sanity carries through to the audio books offered by Audible under the Amazon banner. Based on a comment made by an Amazon spokesperson, the DRM restrictions may be lifted if many customers complain. I’ve done that many times in the past! Please count my vote in, Amazon!
