I guess the issue with the availability of music and video content is the difference in local distribution agreements and record company or publishing deals. That means each region has to be individually negotiated, and given the size of ZA that’s probably hardly worth it. Apple has also indicated many times that we are in a high risk region where music piracy is rampant. It’s unlikely we’ll see the full store anytime soon.

Will make a plan to watch The Long Way Down, though I think we’re there already

Okay well sounds like some record companies have the agreement with someone to regulate the international music. Or something like that. Still not sure.

Of topic but don’t miss the show Long Way Down on national geographic on 20 july. 2 blokes driving bikes from scotland down africa to cape town.

I’m not 100% sure but I heard somewhere that it’s Sony BMG blocking it here. And they wonder why I don’t buy CD’s.
Apparently they have the rights or something like that. I will try to find out.

Me too! But I’ve never quite understood why we (and other countries) can’t have access to the music and videos on iTunes. What is Apple’s reasoning? Is it a payments issue or one related to DRM?
