Toyota Fortuner facelift

Simply because it’s a present topic of interest to me and because I find it rather curious that no local Toyota dealer is able to provide anything more than sketchy information on the updated Toyota Fortuner and Hilux range. Here are a couple of images of the new model launched in Thailand that may satisfy prospective local buyers:

There will certainly be slight changes for the South African market, though the overall look is likely to be similar. The primary change from the existing model range is the addition of an automatic gearbox for the diesel models and a slight modification of the front grille and headlights – looks a lot like the new Land Rover, I find. A new radio and a darker interior trim will be available. Other than that, pretty much the same as it’s always been.

The local launch is scheduled for November.

A dealership will never show you how the new model will look like or when it will change! They will always put the current model on a so called special to get rid of the old models ( well that is my experience ) Thanks for the preview, it looks great !!! I will rather wait for the ” facelift “

I guess that’s business – motor manufacturers can’t be stranded with very costly stock. I bought the current Fortuner at a very good discount. If you’re in the market for a new Toyota, waiting lists will abound and prices will be higher. Depends, I guess, on what your needs are…

I seems very strange to me how Toyota is keeping very quiet about the new model Fortuner, even though I’ve seen one at a second hand car dealer on Mainreef Road in JHB, their obviously speculating or have friends in Thailand who sent them one. Also have a look at Toyota SA’s website, the bictures they have on the Fortuner D4D is the new spec and still no word of a launch?
