New MiFi working
Yesterday’s unit has been declared an OBF (out-of-box failure) and has been replaced without hesitation.
The green “I’m charged” light is a pleasing sight!

Very interested to see that you picked one of these up. Where did you source it? I’ve been using an older PDA as a router but it’s been less than ideal so I am looking for alternative solutions – I’ll follow your experiences with interest!
Had one on order for three weeks until AutoPage realized they should really order one… The first one was damaged and wouldn’t charge, but the new one is working very well. Highly recommend this is you are looking for a mobile hotspot for multiple devices.
To be honest it’s less the mobility and more the fact that it’s an all in one 3G device and router that appeals, though the thought of going anywhere with it is nice. Multiple devices is a must. How do you think of would cope with being plugged into a power source most of the time?
I don’t think there’s any issue with having the device plugged in all the time, though I’d recommend giving the battery a chance to discharge once in a while just to ensure it lasts a bit longer. The MiFi won’t provide the wireless hotspot functionality if it is connected by USB. Instead, it needs to be connected to a wall socket using the included adapter.
