I want to thank you for your excellent advice - I just got a Canon MP990 and naively did the out-of-the-box CD install for Snow Leopard. As you say the scanner was recognised, but not the printer. So I followed your advice, and now it works fine (wifi version).

By the way the Canon download site confuses matters even further -- whereas you say &quot;install Apple printer drivers first, then Canon&#039;s&quot;, Canon says to do it the other way around! Aaagh! I did: Apple then Canon.

So thanks very much for a very helpful post - and best wishes to you!
