Paper with detail

The Japanese have paper use down to an art. Sure, they recycle. But the force of origami and papercraft is strong with them too. A great example is this scale replica of a motorcycle by Yamaha.

There are plenty of others on the site, but this one is very intricate:

Paper disaster

No, not the lack of filing or the fact that the timesheets haven’t been signed. Disaster dioramas are a fun papercraft project for young and old. Featured are both the Titanic and the Hindenburg.

If you’re in the mood for a paper disaster of a different kind, download, print and then grab scissors and glue.

Paper weapon

As residents of ZA, the AK47 is not exactly something we like to see. Fortunately, this one is just a replica. But not just any replica: it’s a complete papercraft model any hobbyist can lovingly assemble using ordinary glue and safety scissors.

Papercraft AK47

In the words of the designer: at the end of the construction process each person can decide if they would like to hang their own AK-47 on the wall, paint it, customize it with stickers or simply burn it. Maybe for EUR 20, you’d rather adorn a wall with it than burn it. Depends on how strong the anti-gun lobby is in your home, I guess…

Come to think of it, EUR 20 is just about the price of a real AK47 in parts of the country. Get it here (the paper gun, of course).

60′s Batmobile – papercraft model

Papercraft Batmobile Batmaan! Batmaan! If you’ve been unable to affordfind the original Corgi die-cast version, or if you’re like me and didn’t look after your toys when you were young, then this is for you. In the words of Cláudio Dias: “Finalmente!”. He’s provided photos and instructions to build your very own 1966 Batmobile. Thank heavens it excludes anatomically correct models of Adam West and Burt Ward!
